An ongoing series looking at the different ways I’ve had to shift and change my personality and outward persona in order to feel more comfortable moving through different spaces. Turning the camera on myself I attempt to showcase the performativity in the way we present ourselves. Thinking about discussions on code switching as well as the philosophical idea of the persona.

As a member of two marginalized communities I’ve felt that I’ve needed to shift and  change how I act in order to be more accepted. From this I investigate my own uncomfortability as well as look at the bigger picture of how access, agency, and grace is extended to certain groups and not others as well as the performances we have to put on /or are expected to put on to better move through different spaces.

It is all a performance and this series is me looking at that performance for myself as well as performances that other people put on for their day to day. Some are fun, while others are more grating.
